I'm wondering how 2013 3.5 Acura TL compares to 2013 G37 RWD mpg wise? I think TL is more heavy but has smaller engine and better tuned transmission.

Saw 26.3 mpg the last tank, 95% highway with some stupid speeds included. Not terrible.

I have owned a 2009 TL SH-AWD and currently own a 2009 G37 Journey. Both autos. The TL never got as good of mileage as the G. TL averaged 20. G averages 23. I sold the TL based on its harsher ride. Loved the TL's surround sound. Love the G's sporty handling AND compliant ride.

Good to know about mpg.
I always thought TL had softer ride than G37.
Can you tell if G37 is faster than TL SH-AWD or they are about the same?

2013 G37X

28.9 mi/gal on a 160-mile trip with cruise control set at 70 MPH.

For the 14 or so years before buying the G last week, I drove a 2002 Subaru Legacy GT with 5-speed manual transmission and 2.5-liter boxer 4. I rarely saw 28 MPG on the highway. Needless to say I'm happy with the G's fuel consumption, especially seeing as it weighs about 500 pounds more than the Subaru and packs nearly twice the horsepower.

The G blows away the TL SH-AWD, speed wise. However, you mention the TL's soft ride. Not so. Maybe a straight TL, not the TL SH-AWD. It is very stiff legged. Does handle fantastically though, maybe (probably) better than the G. But it's ride is definitely harsh on rougher surfaces and the primary reason I got rid of it.

Got to 22.5 with a drive to Disney (about 360 miles). Of course I was doing 85 to 90 the whole way. My G tends to drop off the MPG when above 80. Average of 62 MPH for the trip with one major slow down for construction. Not bad, but not much better than my typical 21 MPG. By the way...LA and their Costco gas prices of $4.05 for 91 can bite me! I enjoy my $3.35 in the Central Valley a little more now, thank you very much.

I've been monitoring my car for the past two weeks and so far I have gotten 20 city and 25hwy. I try to use cruise control whenever possible so that don't keep gassing and braking the car.
