Key Fob Programming

issue 1:
Ok, some of you may remember about a year ago I purchased a car that ended up being a flood car and there was a ton of work that I had to put into it, new engine, tranny, starter, BCM, ECU, IPCM, and even the wiring harness for the whole car. well in doing that I lost the programming for the key fob to the car. I saw a few steps on how to reprogram the key but the car is stuck in lock and won't go to on or start so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this situation

issue 2: ok for some reason the wiring harness I was sent does not fit the head unit ( to the navigation stereo, A/C etc) I have and I would hate to have to ****** that wiring harness out because I'm not sure if it runs through the engine compartment or not. is there anyway I can still get this to work or are there any adapters that may work to make it fit. Or could I even cut the wires I need from the old harness and put them on the new one ?

Problem 1 - take the key and car to the dealership and have them program it.
Got nothing on problem 2.

Black Betty is correct with the fob, its a dealership only thing. My FOB battery was dead for so long it lost its programming. Dealership only.

Issue #2, sounds like you got a different year or optioned vehicle harness. Aka, maybe you got the harness from a car with NAV and you don't have NAV, or vice versa. Anything can be wired to work but that's a total pain if you aren't very familiar with doing so. Your easiest plug'n'play option will be to source the exact harness for your options.

You shouldn't need to tow the vehicle, but they'll need the VIN number from the vehicle you took the ECU from or maybe just the ECU? Not sure in this case with you replacing everything. I'd call and ask what they would need in your situation. They have to manually enter the numbers in the computer and send a signal to the FOB, literally have to program it. The days of locking the door 5 times, holding the trunk button and clicking your heels are gone.

Thanks for the info guys. Well let me ask this, do you think a locksmith would have the tools to do it. I was told to call a place here and they said they could do it but i wasn't sure about a locksmith

Could be, every locksmith is different. I was told by one locksmith they couldn't possibly cut a key I brought in because it would tear up their bits. The next place had it done in 15 minutes.. Worst case is they'll take a look and say no. Again, your biggest concern will be getting the numbers to match up since they are from different cars.

Car won't start but have all these lights

Ok I put the original BCM back on and that fixed my key programming problem. Now I can't get it to start I just hear a click

I purchased a key fob online and had it cut and programmed by a local locksmith for $50 total. FYI. So yes, a locksmith can do it. I live in a small town in Alabama and if they can figure it out, I don't see why any locksmith with the right tools can't.

blkcaesar, do you have fresh-ish gas in there? The needle says you're pretty low.
