2010 G37X coupe base (non-s) bumper upgrade
Hi,
I'm new to the forums, recently got a 2010 g37x coupe journey (non-s) model with the tech package. I really like the post 2011 S front bumper and am thinking of installing it. I have 2 questions:
1) since the car was built in 2009 the S bumper the dealer's system suggests is the pre 2011 S front bumper, however I want the post 2011 one, will it fit perfectly? or will there be any adjustments to make? Is it better to do it at the dealer or a body shop (fyi i live in montreal)
2) since I have the tech package, I have the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) positioned just below the driver side headlight, If I get the S front bumper (no matter which one) I dont think it'll fit properly as it is more towards the grill. Is it easy to move/remove or is that not possible. Also wondering if anyone has done this before as the dealer is telling me its impossible, but they seem a little incompetent when it comes to bumper upgrades (they told me they never do this)
I appreciate any help,
Chris

The bumper itself will fit 100% .... But if you choose to run the fog lights then you will need a slim washer fluid tank. The slot for the ICC will have to be relocated to the center bumper grill. That's the only part I'm not sure about, but I'm assuming it can be moved there with no modification.
Hopefully some one can confirm

I'm in the same boat, brother. I have the same car as you with technology package. I honestly hate the non-s front bumper and I'm looking for a solution. I can buy a bumper, but the icc sensor is what keeps stopping me.
@Abramite how can i reposition the sensor to the front grill? Don't i need to adjust or calibrate the sensor?
Has anyone repositioned the sensor?

I actually went ahead with the upgrade. Found a good body shop (Car Star montreal) which order all the correct parts for it and it worked. There were just a couple of things to note after the upgrade:
1) The bumper had a smaller cutout for the sensor
2) relocation was done with no issues. Car did not complain afterwards.
3) some parts of the sensor are covered a bit.
4) Cruise Control works fine. Adaptive cruise works at a much smaller distance now (not sure why)
5) The bumper needed to be a cut a bit from the inside to fit the windshield wiper tank (because I forgot to order the smaller wiper tank)
6) I did not plug in the fog lights, because I think you need to make some changes.
Let me know if you still have any questions
