Pay attention to the mpg gauge on your speedo and find the habits that keep it the most to the right. Somewhere on the forum somebody posted the infiniti's recommended shift points for optimal mpg, but they were crazy low... I think it's in the manual too.

IDK how you get such low mpg. I have a 6spd, I usually cruise at 70mph, I blast onto the freeway for fun and I still get 22.5-23mpg mixed driving..maybe 50 street/ 50 highway. I have no idea what you guys are doing to get suck low mpg. My current cycle (I am filling up tomorrow) is 23 mpg even. It has been 12 days since I have filled up

The best mpg I ever recalled was the trip to Dallas with 22-24 mph.
Not sure if there's way to mod on this but man, if I could bring this to around 20 or a little above. I would be f***king happy. lol

What year is your g? Mine is 2010 s model, 7spd .... On average about 18.6 and that's is pretty gently driving, no hash on gas or nothing. A full gas tank give me around 300 miles.

A quarter past stripped
Traveled from Fort Lauderdale to Naples with the cruise control set for 80mph. Consumption meter says that I was getting 25.3mpg....... Made it to Naples and back with a little driving around while there in just over a half of a tank. Traveled 283.7 miles in total on this little trip. If left in D without me playing with it, I've found that the car still gets damn good gas mileage.

I have a 2010 S as well, guess the only difference is the trans. I usually fill up at around 260+ miles and that is around a half tank give or take. Best mpg I have gotten was this past 23 mpg with mixed driving. That is also getting on the freeway like a jackass and cruising around 70 most times...75 the other day. So it has to be the trans and the gearing

Back when i had my FX35's i was on another forum. There was always alot of talk about having your transmission "reflashed". Basically it resets it to factory settings. The FX's have a so called "learning" transmission in that it will learn your drving style and adapt accordingly. The reflash used to come alot when guys bought their cars used to insure the tranny wasn't granny-ed. Some used to have them reflashed after they were broken in if bought new to "unprogram" the gentle drving of the break in period.

I think questions like this are subject to incredibly varied, and therefore perhaps useless and irrelevant responses. The (obvious) problem is that there is no consistency in what others consider "a full gas tank"; it could mean anywhere from 15 to 20 gallons. There is a good reason why the industry standard is a measurement that's expressed as miles-per-gallon and not miles-per-tankful.

Performance doesn't have to mean less mpg. I think once you have those upgrades, you tend to drive a little more aggressive. I'd be willing to bet if you had just an exhaust and intake you could still get the same mileage if you didn't change your driving habits.
