Just cleaning the connections worked for me. For a while. Now the issue is back and worse than before. The fuel gauge is completely useless as it will say I'm empty when I have over half a tank left. Then it will go back up to maybe a quarter tank. Then back to empty again. Etc, etc. I have to remember to reset the trip odometer and use it to estimate how much fuel is left. The issue for me is something other than dirty contacts.

Holy smokes! You removed all that just to get to your fuel pump/tank?

Yeah, just use a Phillips screwdriver and turn left, that'll open up the plate. But before you proceed to remove the pump, you should relieve the fuel pressure and have less than half a tank. Unplug the passenger side harness and start the car till it dies off that way you won't have fuel spilling out everywhere. Have some towels ready to wipe up some fuel. Also, check back a few pages an look at the gtm sc installation manual to get a better idea.

You must remove the round covers on each side by turning each of the 4 the latches a quarter turn with a screwdriver. The black one on the left of the photo is the one that has the fuel pump underneath it, the other just has a float. After removing the cover you'll need to unclip the wires going to the pump or float. Then there are 8(?) small screws to remove that hold the actual cover in place. Be careful not to drop or lose them, they're small. Be careful removing the pump as you have to twist and jiggle it a little to get it out without damaging the fuel pickup hose or the float arm but it's not difficult, you'll see what I mean when you open it. The side without the pump is easier. Don't lose or damage the O ring that seals the cover. One of mine was the wrong size (I suppose from when Infiniti supposedly fixed the gas gauge earlier under warranty). It was even a different color from the other correct one - black instead of blue. Be sure to close it up tightly without overtorquing the screws and stripping out the holes.

You didn't remove all that just to get to the fuel tank did you!!!??? All you need to do is pry up on the rear seat bottom on both sides, it snaps right out and back in with no tools in 10 seconds.

Eeks, sorry that it didn't work and made the problem worse for you. Have you looked into buying new fuel senders? They're actually inexpensive, last time I checked they're $75ish bucks per side.

Actually I love that pic because I have a good preview of exactly where to add sound dampener and run wires for a stereo install. Thanks.

I occasionally make it up that way. I will for HIN with my team sometime later this year whenever it's scheduled. But I'm afraid to look you up after the kiss and hug request.
