I'm not trying to be an a$$ but this thread just made my day Someone takes a Stillen Gen 3 intake (which is the best on the market in my opinion) that is rated at 18.5hp by the manufacturer, and posts a dyno with a 29hp gain!! These intakes have been dyno'd numerous times and always show anywhere from a 10 - 14hp gain. Here's a previous thread where they did the testing on the same day, without taking the car off the dyno, and they saw about 12hp.
https://www.myg37.com/forums/intake-...n-exhaust.html

Unless the Stillen grounding kit gives 17hp. something is seriously wrong with the numbers. I might be a little biased because I have personal history with Dyno Comp in AZ, and I think they are some shady ****'s, but I also have installed these, and many other parts, and dyno'd my gains so I know whats realistic and whats most likely a shop tweaking #'s. Thats just my opinion though. Anyways, please no one take this thread to heart and rush out to dyno your car with the Gen 3's looking for anywhere near this gain. You won't see 29hp gain on this car with gen 3's, CBE, and HFC's for Christ's sake!

Unless the power is in the grounding kit

Do you really have to unhook the battery ground to install this air intake?

I might sound like a rookie but what is the grounding kit isn't that only to provide safety just in case if a lighting strike?
