2012 G37 Convertible Tire Recommendations
I have 50k miles currently, and need another set of tires, with this set only having lasted 20k miles. I live in Atlanta, Georgia.
Can anyone comment on if this short life is normal for tires on this car? Also, what would you recommend for replacement tires that might last a bit longer?
Thanks
Josh

Josh did you have normal wear across the tire or more on the inside? I havent gotten much more than that on mine. I always had more wear on the inside of tires. Not lowered and dealer said the weight can cause it.

What tires do you have on now? Are they the stock Bridgestones?
If so, they have a terrible tread rating so they're not meant to last long. If you want a good, long lasting summer tire then conti DW would be your best bet. If you'd like a little better handling, contisportcontact 5P or the gold standard pilot super sports...I currently run both of those.

Have had my '12 convertible for a few weeks now..it came w/ Hankooks as replacements for the original tires...they're doing just fine so far..they were installed by the dealer that I bought the car from..had run Komho tires on my '10 coupe and they were fine, but a little noisy...good luck!!

Just had Michelin Super Pilot Sports installed on my '10 vert to replace those crappy Bridgestone's. They have made that vague on center feeling go away and hopefully they will be better in the rain than the Bridgestone's where in corners.
By the way, I had a '15 Q60 vert loner with Dunlop's which had an excellent road feel and on great on center feel!

I switched to Vredestein ultrac vorti 3 years ago after using Bridgestone, Michellin, Continental, and i am very very happy with them. Best grip, good tire life.
I use 275/35/19 on the back and 245/40/19 on the front.
This "upsize" will give you more "verical" sidewall, that result in more comfortable ride and protect the rim much better than the stretched OEM tires.

My Michelin Pilot Sports lasted about 17,000 miles on the rear. Even wear across the tread. They're being replaced tomorrow - 2nd set of tires in a little over 32,000 miles on my 2010. So much for the 45,000 mile warranty on tread wear.

Should have been posted in the Wheels & Tires forum. The 'verts are not special in regards to wheels and tires.

Yup, wear patterns are different because the vert weights 450 lbs more and due to the additional vert flex put upon the suspension. The tires need stiffer side walls to limit tire squirm (and/or wandering). Current run flats have the side wall muscle needed, but they have more road noise and cost a lot more. Anyrate, avoid cheap tires.

OP: it would be helpful if you told us the brand and sizes of your current tires b
If you want a high performance tire with lots of grip, I doubt you'll get much more than 12-15,000 miles a set out of them.

Doesn't Infiniti use the same Bridgestone Potenza RE050A on the coupe, convertible and sedan?

When my 27k miles OEM front right tire went flat - after being patched a month before - and I saw there was no tread left so I was lucky it happened on the streets - the only place I could get to was a Firestone shop. And the tire they could get fast were Toyo Proxes. So that's what I have in front.
They feel good to me, but I don't do much racing or drifting...
The rears look new.
