Well I was lucky enough to get a great deal on some Vossen CV4s! Came with tires as well. I would like to thank everybody that chimed in to help me with this decision!

The CV4s did not come with lugs or TPMS tho. So I'm looking into the lug nut advice threads. I think I'll just have the TPMS switched over from my stock set to keep the overall costs down.

Can't thank Kuro enough for making the purchase possible as they were only FS to locals and he found a 3-way deal to hook everybody up! Not to mention he also put a fair amount of driving in to pick up/drop off items. Great guy to deal with.

Rochester I read your lug nut thread and it was very helpful. Your final choice made perfect sense to me so I'm leaning towards the same set of McGards. I'm curious tho do you still have the set of lug nuts that came with your CVTs? If so PLZ let me know if you would consider parting with them. I kinda like the look and I was hoping you might give me a decent price on them.

Glad it helped, Redfire. That was a fun thread, working through options and making a decision.

I do, however, they're pretty much disposable. I think NFS added them to the package for something like $12, but I can't remember off the top of my head. My point being, it's not even remotely worth the effort.

Also, I think I want to keep them anyway. After installing the wheel spacers (for winter only, duckfeet & snows), it occurred to me that I could probably use these instead of the shorty lug nuts that came with the spacers.

I love these lugs (weight and look)and the price to boot. Can't go wrong with them in my opinion.

Those are nice, no doubt. I like the knurled edge, and the clean tops. Weird how the lock-nuts in that kit don't have the same edge.

The spline-drive design is what drew me to the McGards. That, and the two-piece configuration... not that I'm defending it with any mechanical engineering background or anything, but something about the two-piece design was really appealing.

I agree with you on the two piece design. They are just overall appealing as well.

Wjat do you guys think about Kics R40's in neo chrome for the CV4's? Normally I would go chrome or gunmetal all the way....but I've found a deal on a set that almost too good to pass up. NIB for $135 shipped.

Oh and they are open ended so it wouldn't be too loud. I'm wondering how much they will show/poke out? I have no idea how deep the cv4's are

  • They actually cost upwards to $300. Most "deals" on these lug-nuts are knock-offs. Apparently there's a big counterfeit market for lug-nuts.
  • The neo-chrome finish is tacky, IMO. Although the black chrome finish is gorgeous.
  • The length of those nuts is very aggressive. Too much, IMO.
  • They're open-ended. Eh.

Yeah I knew you didn't dig the open ended look from your other lug thread. I wish these were black chrome cause I'd get them in a heartbeat. I'm pretty sure they are AUTH (in this case only, not on eBay) because it's a member of the site that has a +34 trader score. I'm not crazy about the neo chrome just bc it scares me...having never seen them in person.

I guess I was just looking for confirmation so I could take advantage of the great price.
