G-MENTED

In the mornings, or whenever my car is parked for periods of time, I hear metal noises (high-pitched, kind of chatter-like metal rubbing) whenever I step on the clutch pedal during idle or when I shift from first to second gear.

There is no performance issue, it still grips and pulls during acceleration. I only hear it when I step on the clutch or shift. Any idea what this may be?

I'm assuming it's the clutch, but wouldn't performance be noticably affected in all gears?
