P010B - limp mode - no cel
long story short...well sorta
2 months ago my car fell into limp mode (it was bucking violently, thought the tranny was gonna drop out). Anyway, there was no CEL at the time which was surprising. Mechanic checked for fault codes and found the oxygen sensor needed replacing. Why no CEL? Any case, he changed the sensor and the car has been ok until today.
The car went into limp mode No CEL, again!! So, I got myself a bluetooth ODB scanner and found code P010B pop up. Google tells me its the INFINITI - Mass Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2.
Can someone tell me what bank 2 means? Does this mean I need to replace the part?
Any help appreciated, I'm trying to do without a mechanic.
forgot to mention, its a 2009 G37X Sedan Auto

The code "P010B" means there is a large difference between bank 1 MAF output and bank 2 MAF output, where bank 2 MAF is suspected to be out of range.
Try this:
-Unplug and plug in the MAFs on both banks.
-Check the MAF wires for any unusual kinks, cuts or repairs.
-OBD Fusion (phone app & ELM 327 dongle) will give you bank 1 and 2 MAF voltage.
Do you have the factory air box?

it's been 3 weeks and so far hasn't happened again.
what i did was;
- cleaned the MAFs
- cleaned the throttle bodies
- made sure the wires and connectors were ok
- swapped the MAFs (left <-> right)
I also changed the battery since its been struggling to start.
The voltages were reading just fine on the ODB app
wondering if water got on the maf and threw it off...
edit: yes its a factory air box

My 2013 g37 is having same issues. It will lose power when driving. I will turn it off for about 30 seconds turn it back on and have full power. I had the p010 and p010b CEL. I replaced the mafs, throttle bodys, downstream 02 sensors, spark plugs. Took it to the dealership and had them reprogram the ecu based on the TSB bulletin.
Nothing has worked. Has anyone had a solution to this?
Thanks
Luke

The P010B is MAF2 voltages are incorrect this can happen over time and cleaning might not solve it.
I built a small test jig to test 5v sensors and found:
Top P010B sensors- These were .2v difference in the log and this outside of the car.
Bottom are an old pair I found that were "good".
The ones I put on the car both measured 1v at the same spot on the fan and fixed my problem of P010B
This was all done after cleaning them as well.
