Ouch, hopefully you get everything settled soon. I've seen nitrous setups get very similar 1/4 mile times as mine.

Here's some good and bad news.

Bad news is the person selling me the SI blower vanished. No word from him in a couple weeks. Good news is that I just ordered a different one the other days. I have a surprise though for the build, which should make for some interesting results. Hopefully I can swap everything in next week, but we'll see.

Yep, I'm all setup for E85/Flex Fuel. Just need to get re-tuned for it.

Sooooo, I have a surprised for you guys. I refused to acknowledge the fact that I had to send out my blower to have an impeller upgrade. I decided to hell with it and upgrade to the largest known trim for the V3. It's specially made for C07 corvettes and a couple of the Vortech reps didn't even know it existed for some odd reason.

May I introduce you to the Ti-Trim. same internal gear ratio, larger 3.75” inlet, larger and differently contoured impeller. It's got a much higher CFM rating and in the corvette world, you are expected to build your engine when upgrading from the Si-trim to this. Will I blow up my engine? I guess we'll find out in a couple days.

Seriously though, it's supposed to double the boost, so this is uncharted territory as of now. I have a feeling that it won't be too crazy, but I've seen a 350z run this and he was @19psi (was forced to build his block after about a year of tracking it). I have a couple solutions if it gets that point, but I'll revisit those if it comes down to it.

I can assure you that this is much more than an impeller upgrade haha. The 370z's are seeing around 13psi on the Si impeller.

I'm trying to get smarter about FI since I'd like to get there somtime in the future. Can you explain how you can add that much boost to a higher compression motor? I've read that raising boost is effectively raising comp ratio.

I'll be going at this very carefully. If I start passing 13psi during my WOT tuning runs, then I'm going to back off and go with a wastegate or restrictor plate. I won't know until I try though. Expect some very interesting results though.

Around 2k. It's pretty much the going rate for a brand new V3 blower.

This would be totally safe if you put a wastegate on the charge pipe and start with a safe amount of boost. Like get a 10psi wastegate, and tighten from there. Just make sure you have enough fuel, and don't forget that you can play with plug gap/colder plugs as well. I think this is a great approach and a great way to get a lot of boost down low. Personally, I'd just set the wastegate to open at 11psi, and enjoy the huge bottom end torque curve.
