So, if I buy a Stillen SC kit, I should go for the "tuner" option which requires someone else to tune it?

Read the entire thread, looks like the tune that was loaded onto his 2018 ECU wasn't running knock or timing adjustment. That engine was probably terminally injured early on. He's got a whole lotta money into that car!

Not sure about the Q60 but on my G37 the tow hook is not visible and therefore not accessible. I would not believe anything Stillen says about their canned tune. It is way too rich and is intended only as a baseline to start your car. You will need a custom tune to get decent power so buy the tuner kit. Also, do not take their advice on keeping the stock cats. They burn out very fast with the increased temp and volume of gasses. I went back to ART pipes. I'm not sure about the part number but the FB Intercooler makes a big difference. The Bosch bypass valve with the kit is plastic crap. Upgrade to the Turbo Smart TS 0203-1222. I also got good gains a lightweight one piece driveshaft.
