Mobil 1 instead of Ester base Oil?

Please tell us about the ticking issue. There is a VVEL knock, a dashboard ticking and a rear end clicking. Also, please tell us the difference between the ticking noise with the ester oil and the ticking noise without the ester oil. The only person who reported on this said the noise returned six days after the change.

So is a good synthetic in general going to keep the valve ticking noise away?
I'd like to avoid paying $12.00 dollars a quart of Ester base oil from Nissan when I think that there is better oil for the money.
I just got my car 3 weeks ago and am at about 1,000 miles and ready to do an oil change before I let it loose.

Mobil1 is not the same Mobil1 as it used to be. It's not even a full synthetic anymore, it's a synthetic blend. If you read the threads about oil on my350z you'll understand why no one runs it anymore.
As far as Ester additives vs. Ester based oil, I'm still waiting to see what Nissan says about their oil, but I doubt running an Ester based oil should be an issue. I use the Torco SR-5 LDG in all the big power cars anyway and it's Ester based.

Ok guys thanks alot for the info!
I'm going to go with ENEOS oil.
I have only one last question:
What brand name Oil Filter do you recommend for the G37s?
according to a post here, these are good brands:
Mobil 1
AMSOil
Bosch
K&N
Napa Gold

Since you're changing oil every 3750 miles then the OEM is good enough!
