VQ Race wired into another shell with stock ECU?
Let's say you were attempting to stuff a VQ37 and stock ECU into a race wired shell...
What needs to be there to function?
Does the VQ have immobilizers or multi ecus that need to communicate?
Could I presumably buy a Motor, trans, harness and ecu and be good to go with some simple wiring?
By comparison, if you want to swap a benz motor, you need to have the chassis ecu, engine ecu, tranny ecu, and ingnition reprogrammed to all match VIN's, or you're not starting anything.

Yes you will have issues. The OEM ECU communicates with the BCM to ensure the right key is found, otherwise your engine will never start (something to do with the Nissan Anti-theft). The VQ37 also has VVEL which means you can't go aftermarket with a standalone.
If you must use a VQ37, mate it to a VQ35HR head and pistons. That will allow you to run a Haltech Platinum ECU.
There are companies that can bypass the NATS (Z-fever I believe) but I'm not sure they can do it on VQ37 engines. Try emailing them maybe.
