Level 10 Performance Transmissions

Backstory

After going forced induction with the G I began to feel the lag of a stock transmission with a higher power output. I originally went with GTM to complete a valvebody and torque converter upgrade that would take "a couple of weeks". The couple of weeks turned into a couple of months and 6 months later I could not wait any longer. I decided to reach out to Level 10 to fill in the order while my parts/money were in limbo at GTM.

Valvebody/Torque Converter

Pat (the owner) drafted me up an invoice and quickly got to work after asking what kind of power I was putting down. A few weeks later parts were shipped and installed. They held well and felt good but there was an issue that continued to reoccur. See the link.
https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...-problems.html

Bulletproof 7A/T Build

As the issue was diagnosed locally as a hard part problem, Level 10 offered their "Bulletproof" build for the 7A/T. Once again the transmission was on it's way to Level 10. After some back and forth there was a tune error discovered as well with the ECU not communicating to the TCM. Pat offered to have the entire car shipped out for diagnosis and repair.

The transmission and tune were both spruced up and made to work correctly with 500AWHP pushing through. I got the car back and was amazing at how strong and clean the shift points were. It felt great. I could finally feel the G's true potential with FI. The response in the powerband is perfect. Comfortable to drive around town in traffic and perfect for pushing it on the track.

Throughout the whole process the staff at Level 10 was very professional and helpful. They were quick to respond to e-mails and calls. I even had the chance to go out to the shop and visit and was greeted with a hug from Pat and a tour of the shop.

I would recommend Level 10 for any and all automatic transmission issues and upgrades! Thanks Pat, Dave, and the rest of the crew at Level 10 for making the Black Pearl come alive again!

No prob blnewt. A lot of people were asking about Level 10 so I thought I'd give them a shameless plug.

Trans is still holding strong. Some track time down and hard 0-120 pulls, zero hiccups.

Thanks T! I'm down to get together sometime. I'm trying to plan my stroker build with JTran for December.

So its been over a year since your install, what are your thoughts? Would you do anything differently if you had to do it all over again?

Should still be good. The engine build/upgraded turbos are being finalized and with a tune should be pushing a "healthy" amount of power. I have to get it back on the track after that and see.

Im looking to get my 5AT rebuilt by them. Actually, I want to convert my car to the 7AT if its possible. I know I would need to replace the ECU (less than $100 on ebay) but I am not sure what else would have to be done for it to work. Wonder if the wiring is the same?

Level10 has a great reputation it seems and they are currently the only shop I want to do my rebuilt/swap. I live in FL but I would prefer to drive to NJ and have them do it at their shop. I have yet to find anyone who has attempted to convert a 5AT to a 7AT. I want to be able to fully utilize the EcuTEK software to add features to the car (launch control, multiple maps, etc.).

Not sure about the 5AT to 7AT switch but Level 10 does awesome work. Pat may be able to answer some questions pertaining to it.

Agreed 100%. I spoke to him two weeks ago, planning to drive out to see him next summer and get the bullet proof tranny done.

Based on my 20-30 minute phone call with him, I'd say he's easily one of the most knowledgeable guys I've spoken to about a specific subject, in this case transmissions. If anyone can get you the answer, it would be him. He's very caring and genuinely helpful from what I experienced.

I don't think launch control would be possible with the 5AT/7AT.
