Do you have the part # for the o-ring? I'm planning to change the upper & lower hoses too, but I'm afraid a lot of air will be trapped without the bleeding valve...

Also did you need to pour more coolant into the radiator after you drive it a little bit?

Get one of those lisle filling funnels.
Lisle 24610 Spill-Free Funnel : Amazon.com : Automotive Lisle 24610 Spill-Free Funnel : Amazon.com : Automotive

Wow price went up on that.. Used to be ~$20-25.

Anyways, it allows you to have fluid higher than the highest point in the radiator. You run the car to the point the thermostat opens and bubbles stop coming up. At that point it should be bled.

Were you able to drain out the whole 2 gallons just from the bottom plug? What is the point of turning on the heating to max for about 10 seconds?

edit: found out turning on heat to max can get the coolant circulated.

Ok so I guess I will make myself useful and share some of the info that I've gathered. Below you will see parts that are essential and necessary to flush your coolant and/or change your hoses. Please note my vehicle is a V36 3.5L Sedan.

Things you will need...
Nissan Coolant 1 Gallon (Green = concentrated or Blue = 50/50 Premixed)
Distilled Water 1 Gallon
Spill Free Funnel
Radiator Cap (21430-8995A)
Upper Radiator Hose (21501-1NA0A)
Lower Radiator Hose (21503-1NA0A)
Radiator Hose Clamp (01558-00551)
Upper drain plug (21440-JK20B)
Upper drain plug o-ring (21416-48A00)
Lower drain plug o-ring (21441-5V000)

Per FSM, you must change the o-ring but I find that it's not necessary. My vehicle has 50K miles and the o-rings are fine. But they are cheap to replace, so why not? All these parts can be had at any Nissan Dealerships. Infiniti likes to jack up the prices for ALL of them. Many of the parts needed to be special order because they weren't popular in my area. As I've mentioned, all the parts can be special ordered at any Nissan Dealerships.

Also, I was only able to drain out 1.5Gal but I filled it back up with exactly 1.5Gal. Another note I would like to share is that the upper drain plug will start to overflow at roughly 1.2Gal, so have your plug handy and screw it on when you see coolant dripping out.

Does the 1.5 gallons of coolant mentioned above include the contents of the reservoir too or just the radiator?

Two gallons enough to a thorough drain/fill?

Going to give this a try in a few weeks with a vacuum fill type tool.

Anyone know what the inner diameter is of that little hose attached to the drain is? Mine appears to have gone missing.

Had the pleasure of doing the above service to the car today.

To answer some of my questions. The hose needed for the drain is more than 1/2", ~15mm give or take. I used a small old inner tube instead after removing the plug. Do not remove the radiator cap until after the hose is attached. It keeps the drainage to a minimum while attaching hose.

Capacity wise, I too got 2 gallons, with about half a gal left over after refilling. The airlift system was great. No messing around with waiting for the system to heat up, thermostat to open, etc. I did have to add about a pint to top off the radiator. No weird (heater core) noises after roadtesting the car. We'll see how much gets sucked in from the overflow after it cools over night.

After 4 years, the drain o-ring was in great shape. I could of easily reused it. A new one was purchased so that's what went in.

This tool comes with a number of attachments however none really fit the G well. I ended up using the cone.

I'll take a voltage reading tomorrow to see how much it dropped by - coolant electrolysis.

Will revisit this in about 2 years for another drain/refill.

thanks for the parts info man. nice!!

the part about the upper drain plug. this is the one by driver side headlight? i understand it will pour out when filling the coolant / radiator but does it stop coming out of the upper drain plug when you stop filling the radiator until you can screw that upper drain plug in & continue to fill the radiator?
