Cabin Air Filter Replacement Video

I don't know if this video has been posted before, but it's a nice visual of how to replace the cabin air filter in the G.

Interesting...this is actually a DIFFERENT method than the manual shows, but it is easier from what I can see. Good find!

is their only one type of filter you can get or are their better filters out their that dont need to be replaced as often as the stock filters??

thanks for this! now all i need is a video of how to replace the oil and oil filter (since im tired of spending $40 at ez lube). is there a DIY video for that by any chance? thanks

Please tell me your joking. One if your paying $40 for a oil change something is wrong. Im sure synthetic oil is ALOT more than that. Also changing oil in any car is very easy. With our car you just have to remove the skid plate and the entire oil pan and filter is right there. Filter is easy to remove and drain plug will be right in front of your face. I did a FI oil change DIY but it was more aimed to looking how oil was effected by being boosted. here is the link. I hope it helps!

Sadly, i am not joking. I haven't had the G for even a year yet. Im a newb aha. Plus, i never bothered figuring out how to change the oil until now. Thanks for the link, it did help!

Lol changing the oil filter and oil is even easier than this. Btw this looks like a 15 mins job, time to go order some cabin filter.

You can get charcoal filters, but even the OEM ones only need to be changed every 15,000 miles. Why not just use the OEM nes and save some $$? Unless you live in the sand dunes like Sam lol

is the process the same for a 2010+ sedan? i only ask because the filter specifically says it fits up to 08 Gs. is there a different filter and process to remove the glove for 09+?

I saw this video last night and did my filter today, Thank you very much! Next time, I can flash the "I know better grin" when the service advisor says it needs to be replaced.

It should be basically the same. If there ARE any differences, it should be at the common sense level of how to fix it

Wow, yeah that's hella easier than the way I've been doing it. All the more reason NOT to pay a dealer $100+ to do this

Glad this video has saved anyone time and money. I still got another 5k to go until I replace the filter, but I'll be prepared now. BTW I saw Walmart has some fram cabin filters treated with Arm/Hammer baking soda for around $15, was surprised to see that.

Adam West, thanks for this find. So much easier to understand than the service manual instructions or whatever. Nothing like spending $20 on a filter and 10 minutes of my time instead of having the stealership do it for around $100.
