i have a 2012 x coupe and have the same 2 wire plug and no single white wire plug..... im assuming thats the plug but which prong do we ground out??? im not willing to be the guinea pig. lol

This method working for old cars only.

I check service manuals, diagrams for Infiniti QX50 2014..2016. No anymore "TPMS interface plug" present.

DiscountTire did it for free for me (2016 QX50). I leave some tips of course

its easier just to go to the dealer. They do it for free and clear the light in 3 min

coming from an Evo X (that also could only have 1 set of TPMS sensors programmed), the G37 is MUCH less annoying.

Evo would display a warning in the gauge cluster screen that needed to cancelled every time you started the car with my snow tires/wheels on ...

the little orange idiot light the G37 has doesn't bother me at all. not worth buying another set of TPMS sensors, programming, etc.

My TPMS light starts blinking after I ground the plug 6 times, and stays blinking for over a minute, but becomes solid when I start the car. Does that mean the TPMS itself is bad?

Hopefully bringing this thread back to life. Has anyone successfully completed this method recently?

I have a 2011 sedan and I put on Z anniversary wheels a week ago. I drove a short distance to/from work this past week. Yesterday I drove for about 20-25min and the light popped on.

Has anyone been able to sync new wheels? I read through a lot of this thread and it seems like a lot of guys were not able to complete the process.

I successfully used a ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool on my 2013 Sport Coupe. You need to know the ID numbers of your sets of TMPSs, which most tire shops can read and give you. There is little trial & error getting the QuickSet drivers to install and the software upgraded, but after that it's smooth sailing. I've used it twice now and it works well.

Tpms reset

Hi there, i have infiniti fx45 2003.
My tpms warning light is off but on the dashboard i can read only tree tyre pressure 4th is ** i tried to reset its still the same can you help me with that.

That sensor most likely died. They only have a 6-7 year life span

Thank you for your reply. So i will replace that one. By the way when i try to put my tpms to learning mode when i tap the paper clip to the ground six times the warning light starts flashing but when i start the engine the light goes off instead of keeps flashing. there is no error in the codes i also reseted it.am i doing something wrong? or maybe when i change that dead sensor it will solve my problem.

Paperclip Tapping Worked Yesterday on a 2009 G37 Coupe

Just to keep folks updated that there are some of us out there with 'old' Infinitis who still need to use this technique. At least one of my TPMSs were bad so I ordered some new ones in time for my needed tire refresh (
TPMS for 2009 G37 Coupe - $26 each TPMS for 2009 G37 Coupe - $26 each
). The guys at NTB were able to initialize 'em with a tool but did not have the ability to reset my warning light (they said drive around a bit and it'll go off - right).

I set the pressures listed at the beginning of the thread, started the car while kneeling at the door using one hand on the brake and the other pressing the start button until the car started. Then immediately tapped the paper clip against the brake pedal bracket 6 times to get the TPMS light slowly flashing. I waited a minute or so to make sure the light didn't change to solid on and then hit the road. I had to drive less than 5 minutes @ 40-45 MPH before the light went on solid for a few seconds then off! That thing hadn't been off in the almost year that I've had the car. I immediately hooked a u-ey and headed home to fill each tire to 35 PSI. The light didn't come back on when I restarted it and pulled back into the garage nor did it come back on after 25 miles to work this morning and another 25 back. Woo Hoo!!

Just FYI, before I knew what was up, the light would come on solid from the start and stay solid (no blinking at all). When I first tried this technique thinking maybe the PO put these aftermarket rims on and didn't know how to reset things, the best I could get was into the re-learn mode but I'd drive for 5 mins or so (proper PSIs all around) only for the thing to beep loudly then come on solid again. I never tried (or couldn't accomplish, I can't remember) the diagnostic mode test. With the new TPMSs on, it was once and done for me!

I finally was able to get the car into learning mode (blinks once a second just about) when turning the engine on and then tapping. However, even after driving >25mph for 20 minutes it continues to blink. Finally, it just turns to solid. I pump up the tires and it remains solid. Any help?

Pressures are 34, 21, 29, 26 during learning mode.

If it goes from blinking for about a minute to solid that means it's a system malfunction. Probably can't read the sensors. Some brands aren't compatible. I had Dormans that wouldn't work. VDO programmed no problem
