Seriously, that looked so easy.. 5 bolts on each side.
When i took my car to the shop to do it, they had a hell of a time. Infact, the guy said he had to pull the header because they stripped the 1 nut holding the driver side cat on, and charged me an extra $270. They said it was because of unforeseen circumstances where they had to pull the header now its gonna cost me more.
How ridiculous is that..

Great find ! They make it sound so easy... It was a PITA to install considering i somehow damaged 2 of my O2 sensors (covered under warranty), but definitly not for the average Parts Replacement Specialist (Back Yard Mechanics).

Man, a guy brought his Z to my shop to get some HFC's installed and one of my co-workers got the job. I decided to help out. We could not break the bolts loose on the drivers side cat for ****. We got to them pretty easily with some finagling and even with a 700ftlb IR impact gun, they would not break loose. We torched it to red hot and still. I think it was like and 04-06 Z too.

Hmm, now that I start to watch the vid, I think someone was in there messing around because the Z we worked on didn't have a cat support bracket. I wonder if those bolts were cross threaded!

Wow, this video makes it look so easy - I'm inspired to try this install myself!
But then all your comments make it sound horrible. Not sure if I should try this one or not. My CAI install is about the extent of my mechanical experience, and it was quite simple.
Did you guys try the liquid wrench or PB Blaster on the bolts before the install? I'm wondering if I do that on a Friday night and then attempt the install Saturday morning if it'll help at all.
