Exterior upkeep?

Exterior upkeep?
Hello Guys, new to this board. I decided to transition from my MR2 Spyder to a 6 speed Coupe and a friend found a great one for me, in the form of a G37S/Nav 2008 35,000m beautiful condition, this August. The Gray Pearl/K57? finish is stunning so I guess the detail work is responsible.
My question is this. I have always just slapped on cleaner wax to my cars but don't think that would be right here. Would a Meguiars' finishing polish and then Meguiars' ultimate liquid wax be a good initial option when the time comes? It's garaged near the SC coast and probably won't see 5000m per year. So, the point is I think the surface is great and I don't want to screw it up. TIA.

I keep my cars for 10+ years and have had excellent results with clay bar and this;

Thanks for the M20 thought. I know little about detailing and wondered if this car would need clay bar when it gets its first TLC since the paint/surface looks pretty good,

I'd definitely clay the car down before applying any type of sealant to the surface. If there's surface contaminants, applying virtually anything will cause marring to the clearcoat and scratches if the particle is picked up by your foam pad.
Post pictures of your ride so we can get a better idea of how much work needs to be done to the paint!

Congrats on the new [used] car! Being that it is a used car, I would recommend finding a local detail shop that specializes in full details, not an express car wash place with detailing services attached. They will be able to do a paint inspection to see what the exact condition is, and help with giving tips or pricing out a paint correction. At that point you'll have a clean/fresh slate to maintain.
