"Browning" of G37 Black Paint

Glad you got it resolved. I'd still have the dealer check it out if it pops up again as discoloration like that is not normal at all. Swirl marks yes, as that paint really is way too soft, but the "browning" is just odd.

I've heard through other sources that the browning could actually be rust. Possibly from brake dust (or other ferrous metal dust) rusting as it embeds into the clear coat. But until someone actually takes it and does a spectral analysis, it's likely going to remain conjecture.

Thanks for all the help. It is still there, but less noticeable, only in direct sunlight. Here are pictures after compounding/polishing.

parking near certain lawn sprinklers can do this also. It is more noticeable on lighter cars but it seems to turn the clear coat copper. You typically see this on fences and sides of houses with orange stains.

Make sure your sprinklers fall a few feet short of the driveway to account for wind also.
