Sigining the Papers Today, This deal alright?

Hey Everyone,

As I'm sure all of you were/are, I'm both nervous and excited about signing the papers for my 08' g37 coupe with Journey Package (w/ the exception of the journey option, the car is base)

The terms of the lease are, 3K down (which includes all tax, license fees etc)

360/month, 389/month after taxes for 39 Months, with 12K per year.

Ive been trying to work this for awhile now, and was finally able to find it. This a decent deal? It seems fair to me.

Thanks again all.

That is a very good deal if it is 3k down including taxes, license and fees. Most require 3k down plus these fees.

They should provide you all the pricing.

You need only ask for it. You also need the buyout price at the end of the 39mo. in order to really figure out your costs.

Nothing can be kept from you, you just need to ask. Google this stuff, read up and go ask for the info.

You need to get more info before you ask us to rate this deal

Heres some data

MSRP
Invoice
Residual : 22400
Sale Price : 33800

Money factor
Lease term : 39 months
Monthly Payment : 389
Down Payment : 3000

Fill in the blanks and I can run some numbers for you, cheers.

If you spread your down payment out over 39 months you are effectively at ZERO down, $465 a month, and this is a base G37

For comparison I got a G37 Journey with premium package for ZERO down $458 a month, that deal was at invoice, so your deal does NOT sound that great. you can do better especially at this time of the year.

money factor is the interest rate that Infiniti Financial charges you for the lease. It should be around 0.002 (4.8%) for a G37 depending on the exact model

using the numbers you gave me and assuming a 6% tax rate, it should be around $400 a month inclusive of taxes. All you should be paying is tags. thats if you get invoice pricing which a lot of people are getting. if you go invoice + 500 (which is reasonable), then the most you should be paying down is about 500+tags for a $400 monthly payment (you will probably also pay first month's payment at driveoff)

So your down payment of 3K looks like its $2000 too much to me.

A tip :

Start negotiations by starting with the SALE PRICE of the car. Then make sure the money factor is at or below 0.002 (4.8%). Then check to make sure no extra dealer fees are being charged. the only legit fee is the IFS acquisition fee of $595, the rest is negotiable (and should be between 0-100$). Add taxes and tag of course.

Concentrating on the payment for negotiating is the wrong way to go IMHO.
