So got a couple of the perforated leather steering wheel wraps in (1 blue, 1 white). Plan on installing it the same time the wheel is off the car for the TK air bag cover install.
I also made a big purchase on some appearance mods which I hope to have by the end of next weekend.
Going to attempt to install the Morimoto XB fogs this week without taking off the bumper. If it doesnt work then it will have to wait until my headlights are done.
I just need to take a week off and finish up all my mods
Did recently pickup a polished overflow cap and polished power steering cap. Engine bay is seriously almost done. Just a handful of things left at this point

Looooooooove your engine bay. Almost exactly what I am going for. I have the TS engine plate and oil cap with burnt Ti bolts.
Any reason you chose to go with ZSpec and not dressupbolts.com? I'm looking at these

Just read the whole thread.
Nice work so far.
Does a twin turbo Monterrey blue 370z with a Zele body kit ever show up at any of your meet ups? I sold my Z to a guy that lives down that way.

Ok so I got to install my Tommy Kaira airbag cover today and I figured while the wheel was off I would install my new leather steering wheel cover that I ordered from Aliexpress. I was extremely surprised at the quality of the wrap as it is genuine leather and the kit included all the necessary tools for install.
I know there has been quite a few people install this wrap and I will go on record right now and say that I would pay a professional next time to do this. It was a royal pain in the ***. I think mine came out pretty good, with the exception of having some some loose areas only around the bottom of the wheel and then on the back sides of both center trim pieces. Thanks to the recommendation of a member, i'm going to try and steam the wheel today when I get home to see if it will shrink for a tighter fit and feel. Anyway, on to the pics.
One last thing, I would like to point out that removing the wheel and airbag was very easy. Hardest part was getting the air bag out of the cover and installed into the other without having it detonate in my face!
Here is the cover, nice leather with perforated sides that match my Redline goods quite nicely I may add!
Finished product
Final product
Dont mind me, was playing around with some effects to see if any of them would turn out...

DIY: Installing Sport paddles - G35Driver
But to answer your question, yes there are clips that are holding the air bag in. I took 4 flatheads and stuck them down to try and pry the clips up as I worked 1 side out. Worked like a charm. I was extremely careful not to touch the air bag or let it unfold out.
Here are the clips

Is that a picture of the airbag cover w/o airbag on the left and with airbag on the right or is it a picture of two different pieces shaped the same? I only ask because the clips look identical. So I am trying to get a flathead underneath the cover and push in to release the clips? Thanks.

Yes its a pic of the new and old. One with air bag and one without. Same exact piece. The TK air bag cover is custom made at TK factory using the OEM piece.
I should have taken a pic, but not so much "under" the cover as thats where the bag sits and god forbid you puncture it with the tip of the screw driver. All you want to do is release the pressure of the black tabs enough that you can pull on one side of it and it should just slide right out. It may take a little force to slide at first so dont be surprised.
Hope this makes sense.Or if you have trim removal tools you can use those as well. I didnt have my set as I was not home when I did it

Well........got ALOT of carbon pieces in from Upscale Speed.
All from Successful Automotive
Front Splitter
Side splitters
Rear Spats
Radiator cover
Battery cover
Brake cover
Also got Autokits XS rear diffuser
Needless to say I was buffing, polishing, and waxing for a little over 3.5 hours. Got all pieces completed with the exception of the side splitters as both will need a minor repair.
Of course pics to come
