Blackjack608's college build

Hey guys, I recently got my 2008 G37S 6mt back in October with 54k miles on it for just over 14k. It had IPL wheels with continental DWS tires on them and was straight piped.
I want to make this thread basically to keep track of what I've done to it.
Here she is when I first got her

First thing I did was put the stock muffler back on and change the warped from rotors with Powerstop Drilled and slotted ones

Then I changed the transmission fluid with Redline MT-85, which really smoothened things up. I drove it like this for a little bit and then I found an amazing deal on custom headlights; my stocks and $100. I also painted my grill black to mimic the midnight grill at this time.

Finally, today I picked up a nice set of 18" 370z wheels with basically brand new Hankook I-Pike snow tires and threw them on. The rear sits really nice but now I either want to find someone who'd trade my fronts for their rears of the same wheel or get a spacer lol.

I'm also thinking about throwing the straight pipes back on for now until I can get a nice axle back exhaust. I really like the Megan Racing one.

PS: I don't know why some of the pictures are flipped. If anyone can fix this that'd be awesome!

Like what you've done, and nice score on the Z wheels and those headlights. Look forward to more!

Thanks guy! Really enjoying this car so far. My first car was an 04 g35x and I also had an 03 g35 sedan. This is my first coupe though and it's a ton of fun

Nice work! As a fellow college kid I know the struggle! What are your goals? And another 6 speed coupe, nice! I too should change my transmission fluid.

Thanks man! I actually just went through your build thread the other day. Really nice work on yours and such a nice car too lol.
My plans for the car are to make a nice daily driver mainly. I want to get a mild exhaust, like the megan axle back, and either get different wheels or just put some spacers on the IPL's to give it that flush look. I don't think I'll lower the car because I really like the way the sport suspension sits and handles. I do need to do something about the front bumper. Looks like previous owner may have tapped something because there is a ton of spider cracks in the paint by the passenger side of the grill and the foam support behind the bumper is cracked in half. I'm thinking of doing what everyone else does and get the IPL front bumper. That won't be for some time though; have to focus on getting a career when I graduate in May before anything big happens on the car lol
It's a work in progress definitely and I wish we had a track nearby here (long island sucks for racing or off-roading (I had a built wrangler for 3 years previously), have to go off the island for anything).
The tranny fluid was really easy to change. Just a simple drain and fill. My buddy has a lift so it took us 20 minutes total from the car on the ground to it back on the ground.

Got bored and took some pics at my dad's house. I'm really liking how it sits on he 370 wheels although the front wheels definitely need a small spacer to eliminate that hot rod look it currently has

Thanks Kris! It was a no brainer. After test driving it I had to have it. My gf bought me Carsmo ***** for Christmas but I have to wait another week to actually install them. Should help the interior a bit
