Look at the picture. See those little flat, plastic rivets on the underside? You have to take a razor blade and cut those off, after which the trim just separates. The remaining little nubs/posts that are part of those rivets are enough for everything to simply click back into place. You really don't want to use a screwdriver between the plastic and the trim, because the trim that looks like it's aluminum... it actually is aluminum, as you found out. It can scratch, bend and dent, which would be no bueno.

That is correct. I didn't want to cut the ***** off the under side as I thought they were crucial to it sitting in the right spot.
After a few days of driving with the extended shifter I've scrapped it.

So I mentioned it was gonna be a slow build. But yesterday I picked up the car from APC who applied the ceramic clear coat to the wheels. Rochester and a couple others had expressed concern about keeping the wheels clean and maintained. I had tried a couple methods which worked but they got dirty again quickly so this seemed like a worthy investment.
Also picked up a TWM shift **** from a local club member. It's a spooky hybrid. Weighs a metric ton and normally $200+. It was scratched prett good so paid only $50. Got some sand paper and turtle wax. Killed a few episodes of criminal minds and it's good as new. . . . Almost. Haha.
Roof wrap and grill/fogs Were supposed to be done a few weeks ago but life happened. He also doesn't like doing it when it's not warmer. So soon!
Did a drive to Mt rainier last weekend. Was amazing. Obligatory pic and OP updated.

Absolutely. Shop in a smile on that angry face, and brush out the S4 crowding the picture... that would be the kind of photo you could print 8x10 and frame.

Lol. I don't smile in pics. I try but it never looks normal. And that one caught me off guard anyway.
It was an amazing drive. i have the top pic cropped as a computer background. I wish the bottom one has the window rolled up as I like it a bit better. Maybe photoshop!

Had been sitting on a set of Berk HFCs for a few months not sure if or how I would get them installed. had to get the clutch replaced at the dealer so they agreed to put the new cats in while the stock exhaust was dropped and no charge!
Butt dyno hasn't registered anything but the sound is incredible. The Z1 transmission mount gives a nice rumble at very low RPMs and idle, the cats open up under load around 2500rpms and the tanabe starts to growl about 4000. I'm thrilled with this setup.
No new pics because nothing has changed.
Had to cancel an appt to rewrap my grill due to my car at the dealer last week so will be scheduling that and an adjustment to the coilovers (raising to 26.75 fender to floor from 26.5 now) plus 4 corner balance & alignment which will allow me to run 15mm spacers upfront I bought awhile ago. I can't find a single place to roll my front fenders........ :-(
Also installed clear front bulbs for my running lights and turn signals.
Will post pics then.

Dealer warrantied flywheel cylinders and all labor but charged $800 for pressure plate and disc but installed the cats for free. I had a $325 "we owe you" from when I bought my other G37 so I used it. Coupled with the $200+ I got quoted everywhere for CAT install I escaped with a brand new complete clutch for less than $300 so not bad.
Sound clip is a good idea, I'll make that happen. ;-)

Few things happened recently.
Removed the alcantara shift boot first of all. Also removed the sound deadening material below that and shined up the rubber accordion style boot. I actually like it so am leaving it alone for the moment.
- - - Bought a set of calipers from Ryne here. (great seller btw) and they are currently at the local Nissan dealer for disassembly / cleaning / inspection before being sent out for powder coat and a ceramic clear coating.
- - -Found a Successful automotive carbon fiber engine cover from here also that will be delivered next Tuesday.
- - - Got my grill rewrapped on Monday.
Entered into my first car show a few weeks ago with my local Infiniti Nissan Club (PNW_INC) and with 450 cars total ranging from a stock Mazda hatch to a Ferrari 512TR i took home best 2010+ stock class.
Next up is drilled/slotted rotors and stainless lines when i install the calipers.
PICS TO FOLLOW!

Also - I installed the 15mm spacers up front and it was too much. somehow my math was wrong (shocking!!!) and it poked out too far. I am gonna play it safe and go down to 5mm. I don't need perfectly flush front and rear but want more than it is now.
So I have a set of 15mm and 20mm spacers up for sale. Will probably try to sell local first but that's where the spacer situation is right now..... :-(
