cling, clong, clank - coil over noises

Posting for a friend

My friend has a 2012 G37X Sedan. He recently installed BC coilovers and Hotchkis front and rear sway bars with stock bushings. Recently from 0-30 mph the rear end has been making clanking sounds. Suggestions on what this is and how to fix it?

Thank you Steve. It's a clanking noise on the driver side rear every time I drive between 0-30 mph.. at high speeds I don't hear anything and cars pretty smooth overall. I can't figure out if it's sway bars that may be loose or if its the coilover??? Anyone??

Depending on how low you are, you can hit the sway bar on the camber arm. http://i60.tinypic.com/23ww783.jpg

Does it clunk over speed bumps if so it's the sway bar endlinks

Also make sure the endlinks aren't loose where they bolt onto the car

The SPL sway bar end links I got did not fit my car. It wasn't designed for the AWD version according to my guy who installed the coilovers. He said it would just get in the way. So I shipped them back to Z1 motorsports. So do you think its still the same issue?

So for suspension mods, you only have Hotchkis (stock bushings) and BC coils?

Two few things I want to point out...
1) The oversized Hotchkis would not fit in the stock bushings. They should come with their own bushings with grease port. Check out the picture here HOTCHKIS SPORT SUSPENSION SYSTEMS, PARTS, AND COMPLETE BOLT-IN PACKAGES » Blog Archive 2008+ Infinity G35X G37X (AWD) Sport Sway Bar Set from Hotchkis Sport Suspension

2) Common problem with BC is loose top nut. I would suggest a bit of loctite and run the top nut down with an impact. Did you get the coils used? If yes, check for play in the dampers. If no, contact BC and seek for support.
