The new sizes are too tall. You need to keep the same overall diameter, or as close as possible, to avoid throwing off VDC or your speed sensor.

Thanks.
Tire rack says the following will be okay:
Front: 225/40r19
Rear: 285/35r19

Will that fit? Will 285 be too wide. I have stock 19" rims

The 285 will be a little too wide, the widest you can safely go on the stock wheel is 275. However the variance between a 225 in front and 275 in the rear will probably not be ideal for handling. If you want a nice meaty setup, stick with your original setup of 245/40/19 and 275/35/19. Otherwise, the factory spec of 225/45/19 and 245/40/19 will be fine for daily driving.

Hey guys I got same question , different size. My wheels are 20x9 +35 and 20x10.5 +42. I've been doing 245/35 and 275/30. Im trying to get some BFGoodrich tires, and nowhere can I find the rear size . Will 285/30 be ok in the rear? I'm on Air

The 285/35 is over 4% taller than the 285/30 may cause issues w/ ABS & traction control
