For those of you who have done alignments on cars used in the snow belt, were any of the parts required to change angles frozen or stuck? Were the rear eccentrics turnable or seized?

My car is going on 4 years/20K miles and will be seeing its first alignment soon. I'm being told that the hardware might be stuck.

G/L hopefully just a good 48 hr soak w/ PB Blast will get them to loosen up.

I don't do a whole lot of driving in the winter, but there is some. Most of the under carriage looks very clean, but who's to know until they actually get in there.

From reading the FSM, it looks like I need to go to a shop that has access to consult 3 like equipment to reset the steering sensor too.

I can't tell you about those bolts specifically, but I can tell you that every other bolt and exposed metal under my car is nicely rusted.

I am in Chicago to and have alignment done after springs install. No problems at all. 2011 coupe with 24k miles.

Hardware could possibly be stuck, but they should be able to adjust as needed. May need some additional work.

Sounds encouraging. I suppose if the stock parts do need replacing, good time to install some SPL arms and maybe get a head start on a potential future drop.

I was just told that my eccentric bolt is frozen on the rear drivers side. I need to go with the camber kit anyways so Ima just have them replace those with the extended toe bolt. Hopefully the pb blaster will do the trick

Definitely. And if you find a good alignment shop, they should know how to deal with any tricky bolts. I go to Thalmann's in Northbrook. They are the only one's I'll go to for an alignment.

My '10 90k mi car came from Chi also and BOTH are frozen! If I can't get them soaked enough I will need to cut them off.

Looks like keeping the car in the garage paid off. No issues loosening anything up today.
