Swift Sport Springs for the AWD Coupe
So months back Swift had the opportunity to test a set of lowering springs for the all-wheel drive coupe. Leonard at Swift told me that they were sitting on his desk for a while but couldn’t find a test vehicle in order to put them in to production. They already had applications for all the other iterations of the Infiniti G but of course required an actual test vehicle.
Lowering my car was not actually on my mod list but the all-wheel drive coupe looks ridiculous with its stock right height. I am part of the Alberta G/Z Club and at meets people would call my car a 4x4! So I jumped on the opportunity to get some free springs. I did all the work myself and have had a lot of experience working on cars and of course everything was done extremely meticulously.
I tested two iterations of springs from Swift and I am always skeptical of lowering a vehicle as a lot of my friends have and the ride quality is absolute garbage. I have to say that the ride comfort is almost identical to stock. Certainly the handling and responsiveness of the steering around corners has definitely improved.
Numerous very careful measurements were done to arrive at the final lowered ride height. They are -33 mm front and -25 mm back.
I am extremely happy with the aesthetics, ride quality, cornering ability of the car. I enjoy driving my car as a long-distance cruiser and very aggressively as well (I am currently dealing with a blown cat because of this lol).
Previous do-it-yourself guides on this forum on installing springs do not talk about lining up the top strut support. This is an obvious omission and it very important aspect of the install. The factory service manual describes in detail and that was the guide I followed.
Please feel free to ask any questions.
