I know I've posted this in a different thread but figured I'd share it here as well since it pertains to the matter at hand. I vinyl wrapped mine in 3m brushed black aluminum to match my interior and it's been a little over half a year and still looks as good as new. I don't think people truly understand how durable and strong vinyl wrap can truly be.

And Gayle believe it or not these trim pieces a few years ago only costed like a few dollars until Infiniti realized what was happening and how many people were buying them and decided to inflate the price by about 800%.

I can definitely believe it. As much as I want a brand new one, I feel like I should just grab a scratched up replacement and have it wrapped. I could just sand off the rest of the crap finish to make it smooth. No point in spending $100 on a new one, just to put vinyl over it

Believe it or not underneath mine it's all scratched up and peeled but there's no point I sanding it or anything bc it's not enough to effect the vinyl itself. Buy a used one for $25 and wrap it up any color you want!

It literally took me about 45mins and all the patience in the world not to crack the bezel in half during the process haha. I don't think think it's meant for big hands but I still managed lol. Anyways I hope I was able to help you out a little bit!

I just did this over the weekend. I simply stripped all the black paint off (mine all come off with a damp rag) then carefully taped it all up, scuffed it with scotch bright pad, degreased, and painted flat black....took about 30 minutes....
(Last pic is what it looks like with the trim stripped down, clean it well before painting)

That trim came out beautiful! I chose vinyl wrap over paint bc it's more durable imo and paint will tend to chip away again in time.

I understand. I did prep the plastic with a scotch brite to promote adhesion. But time will tell. Ill try and update after many miles. Btw, I didn't mean to thread jack, I didn't pay attention to the fact it was a vinyl review, which btw I may add, looks great!

The paint I used was duplicolor flat black. Again, if you want to paint, prep is key. I used a rag with warm water (and scrubbed) to remove the factory black. It needs to be all gone before you paint....

That came out awesome! Mine is starting to look pretty tired too and i'm not too keen on forking over $100 for a new one or fussing with vinyl wrap (unfortunately patience is not a virtue i possess. lol).
Just searched the forums to see if anyone tried paining it and found this. Thanks!!!

I didn't want to start a new thread for this (as anyone interested will search and find this post anyway ) but wanted to share a link with anyone who may be ready to attempt to vinyl wrap this steering bezel and has no previous experience with such a task.
I'm more than a little ashamed to admit that i tried 4 TIMES to wrap my steering bezel and was unable to get it nice and tight like some i've seen pics of on this board.
Then i found this video, watched it (several times) and nailed it on my next try!
Turns out i had been going about it all wrong. Once i had an idea what to do it wasn't hard at all! I don't know this company, no affiliation, never heard of them before. Just wanted to pass the video along in hopes that it might save someone the frustration i went through before watching it.
