I'm with everyone else here. The extra $ for the ceramic is well worth it. I had it on my Altima for a little over 2 years, no issues at all, and you can definitely tell the difference in A/C usage. Once the car is cool inside it is easier to keep it that way.
Just had Lumar tint put on my G, today actually, at a place in Arlington, TX. $259.99. Good stuff.

I had F1 Pinnacle tint 15% all around and 70% Airblue on the windshield. It looks not much different from your day to day tinted car but the clarity inside the car is amazing and the heat rejection is awesome if you live in a Southern state where it's summer year round.

Have finally settled on a G37 Coupe.
Will be making an appt for tinting next week.
Need it here (SW Fl) but a bit paranoid about cutting down light (Which means vision).
Will go with the ceramic.
This is the quote I was given:
Thank you for your interest in Beverly Hills Window Tinting . We have three films to choose from , the first film is a basic grey 1 year warranty film this will cost $125.00 plus tax , the second film we offer is a carbon based film it has a lifetime warranty this film will cost $150.00 plus tax , the third film is a ceramic film with the highest heat reduction and is visibly clearer to see thru this film will cost $250.00 plus tax. In referance to the loss of vision window film can cause I would recommend the ceramic film with the best visiblety and a shading of 35% this is a light film with a 53% heat reduction and will allow you to see to drive at night and daytime without any visual issues. Please fell free to call us at 239-489-3838 monday - friday 8-5 and saturday 8-3 to schedule an apppointment. Thank you again for your interest in Beverly Hills Window Tinting.

There are many types of tints. Even with ceramic tint, there are tons of company that makes them. The more popular ceramic tint are FormulaONE Pinnacle and Huper Optik. Heat rejection varies with different shade and different brands. Color also varies with different brands.

depending on your state, it may not be legal. But people still do it for other reasons whether to deflect heat from ruining the dashboard or other. I did notice that when I tinted the windshield, the AC would run for half the time in the summer to get it just as cool.

She went to another shop and they didn't check, but she ended up paying 2 inspection fees.

I would also recommend Spectra Photosync tint. This tint is popular with Tesla owners given the large glass roofs. It has the highest heat rejection (higher than ceramic) albeit, it is more expensive but worth it. I'm in blazing AZ heat...only thing I regret is going with 45% (darkens to about 35 depending on the intensity of the sunrays) and not getting my windshield done. The "law" here is 35% and if I went with 35, which darkens to I believe 27 or 28, it could technically break the law so I went with the safe bet. However I have noticed a lot of cars with tint that appears to be a lot darker than mine.

I would love to do the front windshield. but afraid for inspection and what not. My GF failed her inspection a few weeks ago because her tint measured at 24% and the limit is 25%. ****s.

I have the ceramic tint and its been about 9 months with no peeling, bubbling, or police issues. Paid $95 for the side and rear windows.

Had Ceramic Tint done on my. 30% front, 20% rear.
Cost me $460........
And so far, I am regretting it. Under direct sunlight, everything looks hazy / cloudy.
There was another shop that only charged $340. I probably should have went with them. But I was thinking higher price = better quality / better installation.
It looks good from the outside. But inside, you can see a cloudy haze. And it's been 3 weeks. So I'm pretty sure it's dried by now.
