Not in the slightest. Let me clarify. Anyone is free to sell whatever they want for whatever price they like. Leaving completed sales is a tool for buyers and sellers to see what the market is for a particular item. Everyone is still free to price their items however they like. Buyers will buy it if they want to, or skip it. The market is free.

Generally inquiries from new forum members that seem ingenuine. Kinda like a phishing attempt.

Maybe there should be rules that ensure you are an established forum member before a purchase inquiry.

On a different forum, you can't post in forsale threads. Only the OP can post/edit. All communications is done through pm. Eliminates the useless clutter/noise.

I can see some value in that. I don't know if it's possible to implement that here or of members would even want to. But it could certainly make the staff's job easier in some ways. Harder in others.

This is actually an outstanding idea. Some people get offended at others' FS threads and spew garbage on the threads. Which is against the rules. They simply can't ignore what is being offered and move on. This should mitigate that and and inquiries can be handled privately.

I think the main problem w/ just leaving it to the OP is if the sale went bad and there was no electronic trail of the sale or someone sold something that was different than what was posted. I'm new on staff so I don't know if the Private Messages are traceable but that would be a downside IMO.

^^It's up to the buyer to generate a copy of the listing at the time of purchase. If they fail to do so and an issue arises, well, that's a lesson learned then, isn't it.

The forum is simply a venue or medium to connect the buyer with the seller, nothing more nothing less. It's up to the buyer to use a proper form of payment that adequately protects their interests. Up to the buyer to protect their own interests too.

Why should the forum/staff have to babysit mature adults... The whole pics debacle is a non issue. BB shouldn't even have to post a warning about this. No pics, no thread, no questions asked, done! With cell phone cameras in nearly everyone's hand, it's not asking too much.

All 12 of your posts have been made in quick succession within the last couple of hours. The system doesn't work like that. When it catches up to all the posts you've thrown up just now, you'll have access to post in classifieds. I don't have an exact amount of time. But it's not instantly as soon as you make your 10th post. Try again later.
