New Wheels - TPMS Sensors

Morning All,

I'm looking at picking up some new wheels to mount my Summer tires on, keeping my Blizzaks on my stock rims. TireRack charges $396 for a set of TPMS Sensors, and $135 for a 'TPM Quickset Reset Tool'. That said, I'm debating whether to pick up a second set, or just switch them between the sets depending on the season.

Does anyone use seperate wheel/tire combinations, and if so, how have you handled the TPMS issue?

Thanks for the help.

Just go to the dealer and have them "reset" your TPMS. Or just leave them off completely and save a lot of money.. .

I would look around for guys on here selling TPMS though you will spend a lot less than $400..

I just switched mine. Took them off my stock wheels. I think you should put the TPMS on the set that you would use most throughout the year. If the little light indicator bothers you, then get a second set.

I talked to my dealership the other day and they told me that they wouldnt charge me to reprogram them for me everytime I switch between summer set and winter. Thats if I have a set in each. They said it only takes a few mins to do.

You should be able to find a set of used sensors for around 100 bucks. 150 at the MOST.

Then just go to the dealer and have them reset them.
